Day 7... Daniel Fast update

The progress on the scale is not my main focus, but it is encouraging. Kind if like a reward for discipline.

So far the Daniel Fast has been an amazing experience. No withdrawal symptoms from the caffeine and sugar. No headaches, really no discomfort at all. I've been really lazy (but that's because my vacation is ending today). I'm ok with that because I know tomorrow I will hit the ground running with school and workouts and business as usual.

This way of eating (basically vegan, no animal products, bread or coffee/tea and nothing to drink besides water) is not as bad as I thought. I do miss coffee and cheese, but other than that I've had minimal cravings. I've made some really yummy vegan recipes:

Quinoa chili

Black bean salad

Two more weeks to go after today and I have no doubt that I can make it. I'm praying so hard for several things and I have no doubt that God is listening and helping me through this fast.

One more picture... This is last New Year's Eve (2012) compared with Jan. 5 of this year... So about one year and five days difference.

I have made mistakes, and had lots of bumps in the road last year, but I'm so thankful that I did make progress!

  1. Losing weight shouldn't be as hard as many people try to make it. People who are desperate to achieve weight loss are often prone to take more risks. The only reason most people fail in their fitness goals is that they have good intentions at first to adopt a new lifestyle, yet after a few weeks or months, they abandon their good intentions and slip right back into their old bad habits that gave them the excess body fat in the first place.

  2. Wow you're doing wonderful! Keep up the good work!
