You'll never guess...

Yep. I've been doing well! Really well.

Last time I weighed, I was down over 10 lbs. I am getting close to getting out of the 300's again, and I am almost confident I will be there sooner than later.

I haven't blogged in a while because I have been so busy with back-to-school. I went back to work on 7/18 and students came back on 8/1. It's the 3rd week of school and I can feel a good routine settling in finally. My baby girl started Kindergarten today, so now all of my kids are back to school, too.

I am still eating as organic as possible for my budget. I have not had McDonald's in about a month. The only fast food I have indulged in is pizza and Subway. And both of those have been limited.

I think the biggest change is that I am eating much less. I haven't binged in quite a while either (since before my last blog post on 7/20). I am feeling very in control of my eating. I eat when I am hungry, and try to choose protein instead of bad carbs. I have not eat school lunch at all since school started, and I pack my lunch every day. I can tell a huge difference in how I feel. My heartburn has disappeared again (shocker). I just feel better. I know it has a lot to do with the better food, but I MENTALLY feel better because I know I am in control.

I just recently got on the scale because I was curious, but I vow not to let those numbers mess with me anymore. I am focused on good habits and good food right now. Not numbers. As I am slowly proving, if I keep taking these baby steps to being healthy, the weight loss will follow. I am not running a race. I am on a journey.

  1. I am looking forward to following your blog as I begin my weight loss journey. I have rejoined the blogging world also. Check me out at: http://biggirldown.blogspot.com/.

What do you take for lunch? That is the hardest part for me. I'm in law enforcement and it is so easy to hit the drive thru and had back to my beat.

  2. I feel the exact same way. Days where I eat that slice of pizza or cupcake I feel like crap. Days where I eat healthy- fruits, veggies, lean meats I feel so much better. Better food makes me feel better. I have more energey too. I don't know why I do it to myself. I get a craving and give in just to end up feeling horrible.

Well, keep up the good work Hollie!

  4. Hi Holly, glad to see you are still moving forward. If you are struggling with appetite consider increasing your fruit (limited fruit) and veggie intake. You won't be as hungry and thinking about food all the time. It works great!

    Cheers!

  7. Hey Skinnyhollie,

Congratulations and keep this positive attitude and you will get there. You know, we all binge sometimes. What's important is how we pick ourselves up after it. Don't be too hard on your self, admit the guilt and fix it the next day. It's only when you binge a couple few days in a row that you can really see damage.

Have you maybe tried dukan diet? I recently did and I had great success. I even started writing a blog and through my blog and few friends, I saw it worked for many others as well. Check out my experience at http://firmthighsandbutt.com/mydukandietexperience

  8. Hi Hollie,
Just found your blog and I am excited to follow your results.

We are always trying to keep a budget around our house and eat healthy to slim the waist line. It can be done but it takes work on my end and factoring cost of healthy food. Keep up the good work

  24. Hi Hollie

This is the first time I have visited your blog and I am very happy that you are leaning towards organic. I want to let you know that wholefoods.com and Trader Joes has some recipe ideas. Trader Joe puts out a newsletter with suggestions of some good organic meals.
Also to save money Whole Foods has a newsletter with coupons for $1 off a lot of products. If I use them I buy them when they are on special. They also have food classes. For example in my area they have "Healthy Eats with Chef Ilona," every third Wednesday.
Also, I would like to recommend that you do a colon cleanse to get rid of the toxins in your body, this will also help you lose weight.
Keep up the good work and I am very proud of you! I know that a lifestyle change can be tough.lebreal

  25. I hate it when I don't stick to my diet. It does get hard but I follow the slow carb diet which for me is pretty easy because I don't need to work out I just need to be strict on what I eat and then save my cravings for my cheat day. But lately I haven't been following it I thankfully haven't gained any weight but I do feel like crap which I hate.
I Actually have my own blog called http://www.lazyweight.com
were I talk about all my struggles and accomplishments.

  26. I know what you mean about struggling with cheating on the diet. I thankfully follow the slow carb diet were I can cheat one day out of the week and I don't even need to work out. It really does work I have lost 25 pounds in 1 month. But I really had to keep my cheat days to one day a week. And Lately I haven't been doing that. I am glad I haven't gained any weight yet but I do fill doughy and like crap. I have a blog like everyone else posting on here it is.
    http://www.lazyweight.com
There I talk about what i do and how i deal with my struggles of staying disciplined on the diet.

  27. It sounds like you're doing well Hollie. I have been a bit obseesed with ways I can slim down in a month for my wedding and honeymoon. I have discovered the joys of chick peas! They fill you up, are packed with protein and have hardly any fat. Good luck with your weight loss efforts :-)

  28. Interesting blog you have here. Weight losing is hard indeed. I used to have this problem a couple of years ago , but since then I've worked hard and now I'm proud to be a fitness instructor. However , the most important aspect in weight losing after nutrition is cardio, cardio and cardio.I use the following schedule for my students:

  30. Losing the Weight
So Im currently at 290 pounds I've decided to lose 100 pounds just for fun, and to blog about it and show everyone who wants tips on how to lose weight. Without those stupid pills, and crazy meals they want you to order, (but if you want to do that just for some extra help thats your choice.) So this blog will be about me and my plan/guide to losing 100 pound or close to in 60 days. A few reasons I decided to do this is as follows.

    Just to have more Energy
To be more productive at my Job
Have a kid on the way
Just want to get in shape again
So hopefully you will comment and visit my blog and twitter account and leave me messages or questions.\

Tomorrow ill be adding some pictures, and my official weight and ill be writing on my twitter and on her daily multiple times a day 4-10 times a day.

  31. School lunches are a challenge for me too. My school is leaning toward healthier lunches. the other day they served sweet potato tater tots...they weren't bad. Since I teach Special Ed now, I sit and eat with my kids and some days its torture.

Kudos to you for bringing your lunch and staying away from the devil...McDonalds.

Send some of those good vibes this way b/c Ive been stuck for a while now. Hey how did that book work out? I think it was called Crave.
