Interesting...

I had an inservice meeting today and I absolutely fell apart! I am NOT ready to be out of my controlled eating environment. I have done well all week, but take the control over the menu out of my hands and #fail.

I had candy. I ate the barbeque, chips and baked beans for lunch. Damn! I controlled portions and didn't go back for seconds like everyone else. I also drank a lot of water. But candy - that's a no-no.

This is what I will do DIFFERENT.

I am already back on plan. This will NOT be a free-day-I-will-start-over-tomorrow-because-I-messed-up-today type of day. No.

I am NOT throwing in the towel.

I am on my way to the gym, and I will eat light for the rest of the day. I stocked up on lots of fruit and veggies last night, so I have good food to choose from. I am also posting this NOW so I will be accountable.

I am REALLY trying to change my mentality. It can't be ALL or NOTHING. Grey areas do exist, even if it shouldn't be a color you choose often on this journey.

I will not give up easily. I will be consistent.

I struggle with consistency.


I know I am not supposed to be looking at the scale, but I did weigh this morning. I am down 3.4 lbs from last Tuesday.

  1. It's so damned hard isn't it? I almost bought ice cream today. Almost.

    Instead, I bought watermelon.

    Trust me, I know what you are going through. Maybe you should bring food with you and keep in the fridge so you can have it when those meetings happen. That would definitely help.

    Now go kick ass in that gym.

  6. why don't you make a list of all the amazing things you did...today and through this week. Focus on that and stop it STOP IT from being thrown out the window over f-ing candy.

    woman I have lived this whole battle for the past 10 years. It's time to live. There's more to life than candy.

  13. Way to go on the scale being down and on realizing that things are black or white and that having some grey mixed in is ok. I know that's been something I've come to realize too. One meal doesn't mean throwing in the whole day. Keep up the good work and the positive thinking.

    Great way to think! I love that you did not throw in the towel. Remember that healthy people eat those things too. Not often and not a large amount. When they do they enjoy them an work out more. So you keep doing you! Love your blog!

  15. First well done on the weight loss. Second congratulations on the way you're dealing with today. Despite maybe not the best choices in food, although there is nothing wrong with the occasional candy (when not on a sugar free month) you dealing with it right. You're not going off the rails, you're just continuing and eating the right things. I really think you won't see much difference because of this one little blip.

  16. Gray areas! Exactly! It's not the end of the world if you have a few extra calories! You've come too far and learned too much along the way, to keep starting over every time you have a bite of bbq! Keep plugging! Wake up tomorrow and put the past behind you. Eat right for LIFE.
