Feeling fat...

I feel very fat today. My stomach still feels bloated and swollen, and it's still sore. I overate last night (had a bowl of cereal after dinner), so I'm not feeling 100% today. Yesterday afternoon was BEAUTIFUL outside, and I really wanted to go walk, but just didn't feel like it. All I wanted to do was lay down, so I listened to my body and did just that. I'm entitled, right?

Okay - I have decided to give up sugar. I'll probably start out South Beach Diet style, and start out with nothing the first two weeks, then gradually add the good grains/carbs into my diet. I am tired of being RULED by sugar cravings. I have to admit, since I have made a move toward eating clean it has helped. I haven't had a Cadbury egg in nearly two weeks! But once I eat something sweet, I go crazy! So I am going to tough it out and let my body detox. I haven't decided WHEN exactly, though. I'm thinking the Monday after Easter...?

We have soccer practice this evening, and they have moved the location so I no longer have a track to walk at:( Maybe after we get home I can do 30 minutes on the elliptical. Thing is, my elliptical feels like it's falling apart! Maybe it just needs to be tightened up? I dunno...

  1. I have been thinking a lot about a sugar detox too. It does make me feel a lot better after the 3rd or 4th day. Keep me updated!

  2. Great job for making a decision. I just had to say though what better time to start than today? I know it's hard, but isn't putting things off part of the problem? I know it is for me? And I hope you don't think I'm rude by having said all that. personally, I know anything you do is a personal choice and who am i to give advice, I just would love to see you start feeling better and what better day than today to start that process. I certainly give you credit for deciding to give up sugar... I know i couldn't :-)

    Also... Just for an FYI thing... Total original & Fiber one original are awesome options for cereal when you're wanting something more after dinner. On WW, they are 1pt & 0pt respectively :) WHOHOO!! Anyhow... Good luck and I can't wait to check in during the weeks to come and see how you are doing :)

  3. Hey! Thanks for the comment. I was just over here this morning reading about your ovarian cyst problem... hope that gets resolved SOON.

    Giving up sugar is scary in our heads, but I tell ya, once it's done, it feels a million times better. I just flat out don't CARE about food much anymore. Only to give myself nutrition and stop hunger. Its a nice break from obsession.

    I have to be careful of artificial sweeteners, too. I've been using sf coffee as a crutch and I plan to cut that way back this week.

  4. cereal is my weakness. I tell myself I'll just have a snack, then proceed to FILL the bowl until it's overflowing, add milk & sugar and inhale the entire thing. Probably way more then 1 serving but I continue to do it over and over. I could live in the cereal isle :) Hope Friday is better for you and you have a GREAT weekend!
