What in the world is going on!

I am in pain. Severe abdominal pain. It started Sunday, got worse yesterday, and was taking my breath away this morning. The cramps feel like labor - no lie. I think it's gas, but I have never had gas this bad. I don't know why I would suddenly have gas this bad - I'm not eating anything different. I also do not think it's constipation, but it does hurt really bad when i try to go to the bathroom. Like a kick in the gut. I don't know what is going on, but my stomach is swollen and it hurts to even touch it. I do not have health insurance, and do not go to the doctor even when I do. But if this doesn't get any better I have to go.

I tried walking during soccer last night because Clyde did show, but was only able to walk for about 15 minutes with the pain. This morning the scale was only up 1.4 lbs, but I really think this stomach stuff is the cause. My belly feels large and uncomfortable, and my size 24's are suddenly tight again (after being loose yesterday). I'm trying to stick out the day at work, and will WI at WW this afternoon. I drank some Sprite this morning, and have been eating strawberries and grapes because I don't want to eat anything too "solid". I also brought some SlimFast and yogurt. The back of my mind tells me one good trip to the bathroom will help...

I have been going through my blogroll this morning, and actually made the decision to delete a blog. I have been following this guy for a while, but I think he has gotten a little too smug. Assholes really annoy me, so I decided not to follow anymore. I know a lot of people find him inspiring, but I find him insulting. Just because he got it "right" this time, doesn't mean that those of us that don't are failures. Showing support is not always enabling. There. I said it. Now I'm moving on...

  2. omg, are you ok yet? That sounds scary! Be careful ok? And let us know if your pain goes away or you get to the dr. I don't have health insurance either but sometimes, the dr/ER will "forgive" or reduce a bill if you explain you can't afford it but needed care. Good luck!

  3. HI! From my husbands health issues with his intestines I can tell you for sure that if you are severly constipated you will bloat and it is painful. If you start vomitting go to the ER not urgent care. Eating high fiber will help (sounds like you are) and drinking lots of water, sucky thing is everything that you put into you can just make you feel worse. You don't have to answer this for me, but ask yourself when the last time you went was? That's always pleasant to think of right? hahahaha!! If you're REALLY desperate and don't want to go to the dr... try LOTS of prune juice or even mineral oil. Drink 1/4 at a time until you have started going. It really does work, even if it's gross to drink. Good luck!

  4. Oh girl... I agree with Jules that it's probable just constipation. I know from personal experience just how much it can hurt. Fresh fruit and veggies can cause some pretty severe gas too.

Gas-X can very quickly eliminate gas pain so you can get on with your life. Definitely stop at the drug store and try it.

There are a hundred ways to deal with the constipation issue but they don't all work for everyone. I hope you can find the right one for you quickly.

Don't forget to update us soon, k?

  5. That's just it...I've been going just fine. Went last night and this morning (even though it felt like giving birth). Someone at work said it sounds like gallbladder?

  6. I was thinking gallbladder as well...it seems you can get these attacks sometimes if you lose weight. Annette at Annette's Awakening had that happen recently.

I hope you figure out what this is and feel better soon!

  7. There is currently a strain of stomach bug making the rounds that produces extremely painful gas, all kinds of digestive unpleasantness and more. It seems to come on out of no where and takes about 4 days to run its course. Keep hydrated and you may find some relief with things like chamomile tea or peppermint tea, or even fennel seed tea. Unless there is blood, pain so intense that you lose consciousness or extremely black stools, let it ride it's course.

  8. uhg - you sound like you are in so much pain! Maybe we can find the answer on webmd. I'm such a googler.

I am totally with you on reading other peoples blogs and the impact it has on us. I had a blog I was reading for about 10 months. She was real, she was honest and confronted a lot of negative emotions she had going on, but I felt it bringing me down too - always reading about her frustrations. Good for you for recognizing that - there are so many blogs out there for us to read!

I hope you feel better soon!!

  9. I hope that you feel better soon. I was thinking it could be gall bladder or constipation. Gall bladder attacks can come and go, causing severe pain. Make sure to drink lots of water.

  11. Hollie! Thank you so much for commenting! I haven't really come across many Nashville weightloss bloggers in town. Keep up the great work!!!

  12. Get yourself checked out - I don't have health insurance either, but urgent care is probably a good place to at least get looked at without costing too much.

I hear you on the smug people. I have been doing this for years, and it is a struggle to maintain at times. That never makes you a failure, it makes you human. That's why I write my blog, to help me sort through the struggles and hopefully to help other people.
